Face On Mars Set

In 1990 Sierra Leone issued a set of 37
stamps with one souvenir sheet showing
a human like face in the Mars landscape. Scott lists the
stamps as #1167-1171 with a catalog value
of over $70.00. Extreme speculation in the
early 1990’s drove prices up to over $5,000
per set. Yes, over $5,000. Several articles in “Linn’s Stamp
News”, discussed the scam. I have 30 sets.
